Shipping Delay: Ever Smart Mechanical Issue
Last updated 29 September 2026. Next scheduled update: Friday 2 October.
We’re sorry. If you’ve been sent to this page, your order is on a ship that has had a serious mechanical issue, and it will reach you later than we told you. Here is what we know, what we don’t know yet, and what we’re doing about it.
What Happened
On 29 September, Evergreen Line told us that the Ever Smart, the ship carrying eight of our containers to Australia, had a serious mechanical issue off the Queensland coast.
Read Evergreen Line’s notice to importers of 29 September 2026, the most recent notice available. Details have changed since it was sent.
Our freight forwarder has advised that the repairs can’t be done in Australia, so the ship is returning to the port of Kaohsiung, Taiwan for repairs.
This is the second delay to this shipment. Typhoon Dolphin had already pushed the Ever Smart’s arrival back. The ship had recovered from that delay and reached Queensland waters when the mechanical issue occurred. We know a second delay is especially hard to hear.
Evergreen Line has not reported any damage to cargo.
What This Means for Your Order
We don’t have a new arrival date yet. The shipping line hasn’t confirmed whether our containers will stay on the Ever Smart after repairs or move to another ship. We’ve asked, and we’ll tell you as soon as they answer.
Because the ship is going back to Taiwan, we expect the delay to be weeks rather than days. We’d rather tell you that now than give you a date we can’t stand behind.
When your stock reaches our warehouse, your order goes to the front of the delivery queue.
